Early Childhood

Our early childhood education program is designed to provide a nurturing, stimulating, and developmentally appropriate environment for children from birth to 5 years of age. We believe that the early years are a critical time for laying the foundation for lifelong learning, emotional development, and social skills. Our approach emphasizes holistic development, blending play-based learning with essential early academic skills.

Our program is built around play-based learning, where children are encouraged to explore, imagine, and create. Play is a natural and powerful way for young children to learn, and it helps them develop problem-solving abilities, creativity, and social skills. Through structured and free play, we support each child’s natural curiosity and allow them to develop at their own pace.

Emotional well-being is at the core of our early childhood program. We focus on fostering empathy, emotional regulation, and positive social interactions. Teachers guide students in building strong relationships, learning how to express their feelings, and understanding the perspectives of others. By creating a supportive and caring environment, we ensure that children feel safe and valued, which enhances their ability to learn and grow.

During these formative years, children are developing their language and cognitive abilities at a rapid pace. At Ikigai, we integrate early literacy activities such as storytelling, singing, and phonics games to build a strong foundation in language and communication skills. Cognitive development is further supported through hands-on exploration, where children engage with math, science, and problem-solving tasks that align with their natural interests.

Our early childhood program also focuses on promoting independence and self-help skills. Whether it’s learning to dress themselves, practicing fine motor skills like cutting and drawing, or engaging in simple tasks like tidying up, we encourage children to develop confidence and a sense of responsibility. These life skills prepare them for future schooling and foster a strong sense of self-esteem.

Through our caring, engaging, and supportive environment, Ikigai School’s early childhood education program helps young children grow into confident, curious, and capable learners who are ready for the next stage of their educational journey.
